STATEMENT
My work expresses a love of systems and a catalogue of feelings utilizing nuance and measurement. The paintings mark time and its passage. The work is labor-intensive, utilizing dozens of layers of paint. I am currently creating Wealth and Benefits, a series of complex patterns out of geometric shapes. The rectangle is a motif for wealth, and is applied to my long-term interest in economic systems. The trapezoid has been used to compose colorful, dynamic, abstract "portraits" honoring ideas or benefactors who have given of their time and or treasure to advance humankind.
